Course Requirements

• Participate in all required online sessions.
• Completion of all course requirements (pre and post tests and assignments)
• Upon completion of the Dyslexia Training Institute course, send a copy of your Dyslexia Training Institute Course Record to the University of San Diego.

Your participation in online course discussions, completion of assignments and submission of final exam will determine your final grade. If the final exam is failed, no credit will be granted.

The grading criteria are:

• 50% participation in online course discussions
• 25% completion of assignments
• 25% final exam

Upon completion of each course a cumulative transcript listing all courses completed with the University of San Diego is provided automatically at no charge. Additional transcripts can be requested online for a $5 fee.

Online Registration
IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ
Dyslexia Training Institute offers several online personal and professional development programs in collaboration with the University of San Diego. Currently (USD), participants can earn one to three graduate units of credit, depending on the specific course. USD expects participants to invest a minimum of 15 hours for each credit earned by studying, testing, reflecting, and implementing the research-based components of effective reading and writing instruction and strategies for individuals with dyslexia. With this in mind, we anticipate it would require a minimum of two weeks of study and participation to complete each course.

Dyslexia Training Institute (DTI) participants will be allowed to enroll in and earn graduated credit for only two DTI courses per semester/quarter (corresponding to university Fall (Sept-Dec), Winter/Spring (Jan – May) and Summer (Jun – Aug) semesters/quarters).

Each DTI course must be completed in no fewer than two weeks and no more than 15 weeks.

USD's policy is to release transcripts within 48 hours of receiving a score from Dyslexia Training Institute, but in no case will the transcript be released before the two-week restriction has elapsed. Both the Dyslexia Training Institute and USD are intent on assuring that the learner is able to maximize the ideas gained by meaningful involvement in the program. By registering for credit, participants agree to the expectations indicated above. Finally, participants must register within 10 days of starting their Dyslexia Training Institute course and complete the course in no more than the two weeks. Class date(s): Enter the “current date” in the field requesting class dates.
(Note: The course start date will be the date you register for the course with the University of San Diego. You must register for graduate credit within 10 days of logging in to Dyslexia Training Institute and beginning the course.)

Fees: Select the button for 1 semester units of credit ($65), 2 semester units of credit ($130) or 3 semester units of credit ($195) depending on the credit hours indicated for your course in the chart above.

Complete the remainder of the form and confirm your registration information. Then, click on the “Continue to Final Payment Page.” Your registration is not complete until you receive a web page that displays your Payment Receipt. Please print this page for your records. If you provided a correct e-mail address, the system will send you payment verification upon successful completion of your registration and a registration verification number beginning with the letter “V.”
